Concept
Big-city flair in large format
In the segment of porcelain stoneware, Steuler-Fliesen is known for its highest design standards and top quality. The area of particularly hard and robust porcelain stoneware has so far been limited to floor tiles complementing the wall tiles programme. This is now being changed. Steuler-Fliesen is launching a porcelain stoneware initiative. „This is not a paradigm shift,“ explains Managing Director Peter Wilson. „Steuler-Fliesen stands for design – not for a particular material. And we have noticed that there is a real demand for porcelain stoneware in ‚Steuler look’.“ The south German tile manufacturer wants to satisfy this demand with products of the gres|steuler brand.
Cities are not just big. They are also the cultural centres of each region and act as a magnet for creative people and their ideas. This makes life in the city multifaceted and modern. It consequently has a formative effect on style and trends beyond the city limits. It is this culture precisely that is embodied in URBAN CULTURE.
Its reduced concrete look is not only en vogue, it is also technically very well implemented and „refined“ with a slightly shabby look - which is not as contradictory as it may seem. „The URBAN CULTURE surface makes quite an elegant impression, as the structure is rather reserved“, says Head of Marketing Stefan Grimmeisen, „and yet, it is very unique, because it combines this elegance with coolness.“
This cool elegance is further enhanced by the contemporary square format. „The tiles are not overly large so that they remain practical, and even work in smaller rooms too“, says Grimmeisen, „but they are large enough to make a great impact.“ Whether in a modern loft, an elegant studio or a trendy retail store – URBAN CULTURE also meets the high demands of modern architecture. Thanks to the R10 surface, the series is also suitable for commercial applications. For a breath of London, New York or Paris – even in small towns.

Vision
URBAN CULTURE can be described in two words: city elegance. However, it is also worth devoting several words to the series. City life is diverse, modern and style-defining – and it is this culture precisely that URBAN CULTURE embodies. It conveys the flair of a pulsating metropolis. For a breath of London, New York or Paris.
