“To have made one good chair maybe isn’t such a bad lifetime accomplishment.”
Lamino is a prime example of timeless design. Nature’s own materials and masterful craftsmanship have resulted in a piece of furniture as attractive today as it’ll be for future generations.
When Yngve Ekström designed the chair in 1956, he did it with the human being in focus, which makes it as pleasant to sit in as it is to look at.
We’re happy that there are so many who share our love for this forever-young sixty-year-old. Through the years, the Lamino has been depicted on a stamp and named Swedish furniture of the year. To celebrate this year’s anniversary, we introduce two special limited-edition designs. They are inspired by the designer Yngve Ekström’s poetry, which often praised nature and its constant renewal
The quote comes from the creator of the Lamino chair, Yngve Ekström. And claiming that a chair that was voted “the 20th Century's Best Swedish Furniture Design” by Swedish interior decoration magazine, Sköna Hem’s readers, is only a good chair is an understatement.
2015 marks the 70th anniversary of Swedish furniture producer Swedese, to pay honor to this, Nudie Jeans were asked to do an interpretation of this design classic.
Over the years, Amnesty and Nudie Jeans have been collaborated on a bunch of different projects to raise awareness about Amnesty’s work. The first 100 easy chairs of each version are numbered, and a donation is made to Amnesty International for each sold easy chair.
