Toys from valerie_objects, Designed by Paul Robbrecht, Hilde Daem, Robbrecht en Daem architecten
Product description
birch plywood 9 mm. High gloss varnish red japanese lacquer. Brass hinges
Concept
As a kid, architect Paul Robbrecht was mesmerized by puppet shows. Now, he created his own sober and architectural version that doesn’t collide with the aesthetics of the modern home. The puppet theatre’s design is based on the facade of Robbrecht en Daem’s Market Hall in Ghent — with two pointy rooftops — thus combining contemporary architecture with elements of fairytale castles. By choosing dark oak, the most durable of woods, Robbrecht aims to create an object that will be passed on to the next generations to come.
