Oswald Haerdtl – Classic Jug
Decanters / Carafes from Wiener Silber Manufactur, Designed by Oswald Haerdtl
Product description
Oswald Haerdtl, one of the keys Austrian architects and designers of mid 20th century, designed this iconic jug for the traditional silversmith company.
The jug appears like a bag made from corrugated cardboard. The vertical grooves of the body unfold fan-shaped from a small base plate. An elegant handle assimilates the swing of the wide opening and sustains it in a c-curve. The handle’s reinforced inner face forms another distinctive feature. The silversmith masters of the Wiener Silber Manufactur reproduce the jug after an original drawing of Oswald Haerdtl, dated 1954 and kept in the archives of the company. The jug embodies the highest level of craftsmanship and is a true expression of timeless design.
