Tomás Alonso – Tea Set
Dining-table accessories from Wiener Silber Manufactur, Designed by Tomas Alonso
Product description
Concept
Spanish designer Tomás Alonso created an elegant Tea Set and a Bar Set, both characterized by the functionality of design.
The first cooperation with Alonso was commissioned by the Vienna Design Week in 2011 and resulted in an extraordinary tea set. The designer who drew inspiration from the company’s legacy of silversmith mastery and innovation created a classical table object with his innovative and fresh signature. With the functionality of design in mind he designed a plain tea service with fluted pattern on the underside of the vessels and the upper side of the tray, both interlocked with each other. In 2013, Alonso varied the theme and created a coolly elegant drinking set with the same grooves on the bottom of the pitcher and glasses to plug together the vessels and the tray. In 2015, Alonso won the prestigious Swarovski Designers of the Future Design Miami/Basel Award.
