Product description
Concept
Chippensteel 0.5 is a fine example of blending FiDU process and craftmanship. The 2D form is cut from metal sheet and goes through welding and inflating, becoming three dimensional functional chair. The finishing touch by designer and craftsman gives it a final beauty.
The chair’s form, inspired by the classic chair design, fashionable in the third quarter of the 18th century and named after the English cabinetmaker Thomas Chippendale. Chippensteel’s form deceives the eye by its inflated-steel form suggesting softness. The mixture of cold metal with upholstery-like finish makes this Zieta Studio’s chair a unique work of art.
Chippensteel 0.5 chair can be produced in different materials such as copper in The Copper Collection. They maintain the original lightness and form thanks to FiDU technology, at the same time containing the uniqueness of used metal.
