Concept

J-Chair is a sculptural geometric chair, an effect of Oskar Zięta’s experimenting with steel and aluminium. It was created at the special request for the Museum Jerke located in Recklinghausen (Germany).

J-Chair is yet another FiDU manifesto with a strong and iconic visual character and a durable, monolithic costruction. The inspiration for the creation of the J-Chair was the architectural form of the Museum Jerke – minimalist and modern, referring to the archetypal form of a house. The impression that the structure of the building is “cutted” and divided into parts inspired Zieta Studio to imitate its design in the chair’s structure.

The chair is available in two sizes: J-Chair Dining and J-Chair Lounge, as well as in different materials: carbon steel, carbon steel with a leather upholstery, aluminium and aluminium with a leather upholstery. The matt colour palette ranges from grey blue, through graphite, umbra and beige grey to olive green.
