Designer Trompe L'Oeil Behind the Gate in Red

This kilim (flatweave) collection was also developed by SoFar SoNear for Zollanvari, injecting a touch of Italian style by combining a traditional weaving technique with familiar motifs from Roman iconography – a true fusion between East and West. Handwoven since ancient times across many cultures, kilims were principally made for indigenous use. In modern times they have also enjoyed a unique appeal as collectible and decorative ‘floor tapestries’. What makes our project so unique is the use of sophisticated UV printing to transfer the photographic images onto the kilims – innovation and tradition, modernity and history, representing the two faces of the times we live in.
