BSH Hausgeräte GmbH is the largest producer of home appliances in Europe. Thus, anyone owning a Siemens, Bosch or Gaggenau device automatically owns a BSH appliance. Seeing as agile methodologies are increasingly being used to design, develop, produce, market and sell these devices, BSH needed a suitable work environment adapted to its more flexible, cooperative and creative operations. Most major corporations consist of several different departments and disciplines. While methods of agile working may follow similar principles in various business fields, the day-to-day routines in HR are most likely very different to those in Marketing or Global Sales. While members of one team are manning the phones 24/7, others discuss a large variety of topics or need to work silently for the most part of the day. Based on the office concept developed by Dark Horse Workspaces, the Supergrid™ system enables companies to create suitable spaces for all these different work environments. Thus, responding to BSH’s Corporate Design as well as the individual needs of some of its teams, we developed a series of customised solutions and successfully integrated them into the company’s existing system, including acoustics, planting, seating arrangements and storage space variations.
