An office at the level of a 5-star hotel
Winner of the German Design Award 2020, the NOVE by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel is an exclusive office building near the heart of Munich. Clad with a gold-bronze system of window-like frames, this innovative yet inviting structure offers 27,000 square meters of space in which both to work and be at ease. Indeed, the ground floor combines the flair of a luxury hotel lobby with the feel of a piazza. Natural stone, wood, glass and metal come together in a perfect balance of beauty, elegance and function. AXOR Citterio E extends this elegance to the NOVE’s bathrooms.
“We developed the building as a whole—inside and outside—with what is certainly a very Italian perspective,” explains Citterio. “NOVE’s character is defined by the arrangement around the heart of the house: the generous full-height glazed atrium, the high-quality materials, the public character of the four main entrances, and the clear height of the office floors.” As the architect notes, the building “provides infrastructure and organization for the work-life balance of employees”, some 1,300 professionals from a range of leading firms.
The NOVE’s emphasis on the well-being of its users continues in the integrated office bathrooms, which are equipped exclusively with AXOR products for the shower and washbasin. “The bathroom is a private area conceived for the wellness and relaxation of each building user,” Citterio remarks, observing the trend nowadays towards bathrooms “where a sense of sophistication is created by the quality of space and light, a view, ambient music—in symbiosis with the choice of materials, fixtures and finishes.”
For the bathroom, Citterio selected AXOR Citterio E faucets and shower products, citing the collection’s “exceptional ease of use, soft and slender design and pleasant touch and feel.” For the finish, he opted for Brushed Black Chrome, an exclusive AXOR FinishPlus surface that harmonizes perfectly with the overall character of the building. The timelessly elegant design language of AXOR Citterio E is matched by its exceptional durability and efficient water consumption. “One of the main aspects of our work is sustainability in terms of technical fixtures, materials and the overall concept,” Citterio notes. With its LEED Platinum certification, the highest rating of building sustainability, NOVE by Citterio is not only beautiful, elegant and functional—it is a model of green building design.
