One of Sweden's largest institutions chose activity-based approach with storage from BIARO
MER SOLUTION refined in 2014 the premises that Vasakronan rents out to Försäkringskassan's head office in Telefonplan, Stockholm. A work that resulted in an attractive workplace with a completely new design concept. Thus, one of Sweden's largest activity-based offices was also created in one of Stockholm's most important and valuable industrial and cultural history buildings. The new headquarters comprised 24,000 sq.m. and houses approximately 1,300 workplaces and two common areas in a part of Ericsson's old telephone factory, designed by Ture Wennerholm in the 1930s. Responsible architects at MER have been Anne-Li Burman and Lena Ahlberg, both with long experience of working with activity-based offices and its predecessor "flex office". In addition to a variety of workplaces, the premises contain treadmills for meetings, restrooms, libraries and indoor gardens. The employees have no permanent workplace, but a "residence" with a personal cabinet, project table and meeting room, as well as different zones for concentrated or more active work. As a personal storage to all employees at the head office, BIARO's mobile storage solution Toolbox was chosen. Since 2014 Försäkringskassan has continued to convert its offices into activity-based offices in some ten locations in Sweden and even there Toolbox has been the choice to meet the employees' need for mobile storage.
