Brinkworth have designed the first ever retail project for Browns Fashion outside the UK, with a temporary store-in-store at Fred Segal on Sunset Boulevard, L.A.
This initial iteration of the Browns ‘nomadic’ retail approach first developed for Browns East in London, demonstrates the versatility of the Brinkworth design concept.
A rapid timeframe to design and produce the eight-week residency inspired the final outcome. Referencing the London stores’ colour and texture palette, a range of both luxury and utilitarian sheet materials are simply placed within customized industrial trolleys to create a delightful and unexpected mix of backdrops and displays.
The simplicity of these raw materials with minimal intervention of fixings or manufacture process provides a completely mobile system, inherently enabling quick set-ups, total flexibility and the vibrant activation of the retail space. The retail concept, combined with the diverse materiality of the Browns collections products together build up rich layers of contrasting, complimentary textures and colours.
“It’s been a real pleasure working with this iconic retailer and their talented and inspiring team again. We have introduced a new set of tools in the form of freestanding elements that facilitate varying retail moments, enabling Browns to host an exciting and ever-changing environment.” Brinkworth CEO, Adam Brinkworth.
