The Xella Group manufactures and markets building materials, dry lining panels together with lime and limestone. With its Fermacell, Ytong, Silka and Hebel ranges, the group is active in 30 countries. The new headquarters in the southern part of Duisburg provides one central location for company activities with workplaces for 340 employees in around 8000 square meters.
Inside, the strictly symmetrical building clearly relates to the relevant character of the brands. Interior designer Claudia De Bruyn, designer of the year in 2010, developed innovative room concepts for future-oriented working. In contrast to the universal, subdued gray of the floors and the white walls, the ceilings are colored according to the particular Corporate Design of the brand: mid-blue for Xella, orange for Fermacell, yellow for Ytong.
Playful sculptures dominate the foyer. The products are presented here to be experienced. The highlight of the collection is a walk-in innovation arena that can be reached via a podium. Visitors will find tables and walls you can write on so ideas are never lost. The lounge shines with cubic armchairs and small white metal tables that provide space for a varying number of people thanks to their special geometric arrangement. The precise gray of the flat weave carpet Eco Syn, designed by two design for Carpet Concept, connects all brand worlds. The floor covering represents durability and aesthetic resoluteness as well as the power of innovation and sustainable building.
