The plot, which is located on an arterial road out of the city, was approved for development so that four new residential buildings could be constructed. The project plays with these two characteristic elements – at times it is the vineyard wall alone, which in combination with the garage forms an enclosed entrance; at other times it is the pear tree, the canopy of which seems to protrude into the parents' bathroom. In front of the piano room the two elements meet and together with the house form a sheltered place to linger, which in high summer is visited by the mild rays of the evening sun.
The living room floor with its fireplace is oriented towards the spacious garden, and is visually limited by the low naturally formed stone wall outside. The separation between inside and outside, between warm and cold, is achieved by a technically sophisticated, filigree glazing with electrically controllable sliding panels, creating a sense of inside space for living that is nonetheless outside in the garden. The bedroom floor above gives the open floor plan on the first floor stability, and clears the way to the beautiful view of the Pfäfers Benedictine monastery from the 8th century.
