Turtle/Turtle is an original sculpture created for Humanscale's Faces in the Wild auction to benefit the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) - the worldwide leader in efforts to protect endangered species.
When asked to contribute, Cory's instinct was to create a hybrid sculpture, toy and children's seat. "I've always loved the Eame's Elephant," Grosser said. "It's a piece of design that can be given to a child and kept for life. I wanted to do something with a similar spirit." The sea turtle was chosen because of it's gentle nature and a uniqueness that children everywhere are drawn to. They pre-date dinosaurs but are in desperate need of help as six out of seven species are endangered. Made of powder coated steel rod and hand-stitched premium saddle leather, Turtle/ Turtle is a simple, playful and graphic object inspired by a worthy cause.
