Emiliana Design Studio launches as exclusive producer the stool NAOSHIMA at the prestigious fair in Stockholm Furniture Fair.
“… we founded Emiliana Design Studio in Barcelona in the late 1990s and have always designed products and furnishings for companies and exhibitions for museums and institutions.
When we started out, we never imagined that one day we would embark on the adventure of launching our first piece, the Naoshima, an honest, restful and sturdy stool made of solid oak, with technical challenges and artisanal finishes.
The stool was designed and is manufactured in Barcelona but we named it Naoshima after a trip we made to this enchanting Japanese island…”
Ana Mir + Emili Padrós.
Naoshima is a collection of stools for contract and domestic use that experiments with the structural and expressive potential of bent plywood. The stool combines four identical pieces of plywood to construct the seat. As the seat extends itself in four wooden legs, it creates a solid unique whole. The empty spaces generated in the corners of the plywood seat make Naoshima a light and visually vibrant piece of furniture.
Naoshima is certified as meeting or exceeding the European and American resistance tests for general and severe use.
