Cafe Georgette

In the lively Museum-quarter, right in the middle of the P.C. Hooftstraat, Cafe Georgette just opened her doors to the public. Café Georgette, George’s little sister, is open for Early Morning Coffee till After Work Drinks. In between, enjoy the excellent food from our breakfast, lunch or early evening diner menu’s. Sweet tooths will definitely appreciate Georgette’s varying assortment in pies and pastry. And for those lacking the spare time to lay loose on Georgette’s year round opened terrace: all items from the menu are available for takeaway as well.

Step Inside
First thing to notice when visiting Café Georgette, is the unique heated and covered terrace. Be seated at the Maison Drucker furniture and gaze at the eclectic mix of passers-by. Once inside, you will experience that typical Marais atmosphere of light colours, and intimate seatings, the open bar and the big sofa in the back where one can oversee the entire café.

It’s All In The Details
Just like with all other George venues, the design has been created by Framework Studio. Regular guests of the George venues will recognize the typical George style by the use of metro tiles and many marble features. To give Georgette more of a female flair this time, Framework added soft toned colours on the walls, combined with marvellous Giò Ponti mirrors. The entire inner space has been enclosed in a folding screen in several shades of grey.

Kick Star
Georgette starts the day off with a comprehensive breakfast menu. Will you decide on buckwheat pancakes, or one of the several avocado dishes? What about a refreshing cereal or acai bowl? And off course, sticking to George tradition, there is an extensive choice in eggs: ranging from scrambled to Eggs Benedict.

Meet Me In The Middle
On the lunch menu you will find well known George classics like the hamburger and pizza tuna; Georgette however has a taste of her own, bringing new, worldwide inspired dishes to the menu ranging from Arabian pita bread to French tartines and fresh salads.

Leave The Day Behind
Close the day off with a refreshing cocktail, a great wine or a delicious Champagne, while enjoying your oysters or Amsterdam handmade bitterballen. Prefer something more light? Georgette will gladly serve you rice paper spring rolls or crispy sweet potato.


Café Georgette is a new venue to the still growing George family of restaurants by UMH Group. The first George venue was opened in 2007, after which several more have been opened in and around Amsterdam. Each venue has its own character, but is clearly defined by the unique restaurant concept based on the New York Style French Bistro. George offers her guests modern variations to classic recipes, always prepared with fresh ingredients. The restaurant design is by Framework Studio. It has been nominated for the International Restaurant & Bar Design Awards for several years in a row.
