Venice, land torn by the sea, when tides and winds bring in the city the flood called “acqua alta”.
Venice, a city unique in the world, the Dogis’ Republic, a living masterpiece of arts, architecture, the Murano Glass and the Carnival event.
When H.C.E. saw for the first time the 60’s concrete building to be renovated, they understood that the great challenge was to turn that old Post Office Center into a modern 4 star-boutique hotel.
Extracting the best of the past and present, H.C.E. and Partners created a deeply personal and truly unique atmosphere of sophistication and style.
The hotel offers captivating and romantic contemporary design, which brings to mind the most elegant and authentic Venetian furnishings mixed with the latest technological materials.
The Guests can immediately perceive the sophisticated elegance of Carnival Palace Hotel while walking in the Hall and the Reception, highlighted by the shiny gilded reception front. The gilded metal decoration of the back counter, the rich marble top and ceramic stoneware floor are custom designed, in order to emphasize the unique look of Carnival Palace.
Intimacy and comfort are the lobby and bar’s main features. The guests can appreciate this unique ambience seating on armchairs or on a big sofa specially designed with a perfect colours combination.
The hotel offers 67 comfortable and spacious rooms and suites, designed with three different colour schemes perfectly matching.
Black, blue, red and violet, combined with gold and silver, represent the different perceptions of the same city: Venice.
Here, the tradition of the typical Venetian decorations and materials, like glass, mosaic, wall paintings, lacquer, velvets, metals and mirrors are enriched through meaningful technical innovations.
All the rooms have a large bathroom, provided with a big Corian shower and rgb leds, ceramic stoneware floor and wall tiles, highlighted by a mosaic accent.
The use of porcelain stoneware is a smart choice, because of its low prices and a high durability. The texture, which reminds a precious marble, emphasizes the luxury ambience.
The dark corridors recall the mysterious “calli”, when the fog comes down and hides the city’s shapes. The spotlights, that enlighten the room numbers on the doors, represent the typical venetian street lights.
Carnival Palace is one of the few hotels in Venice that has a “secret” and quiet garden. It extends all along the building, next to the common areas.
During the warm seasons, the secret garden becomes a pleasant place to have a breakfast or to drink Bellini, the best drink in Venice.
In all those elements we can find the H.C.E.’s philosophy: it’s very important for the designers to keep in mind the context where every project is located (the importance of “genius loci”).
This is the only way for having a hotel integrated with the landscape, without overlooking the essential value of technology for a successful design.
This is the reason why in Carnival Palace the Guest perceives all the different aspects of this unique and charming city.
