Hem is pleased to announce it is opening a pop-up store in London at the historic Coal Drops Yard, the innovative new shopping experience in King’s Cross. From November 1st, the Hem pop-up will give Londoners the opportunity to buy Hem furniture, lighting and accessories by some of today’s most forward-thinking designers, including Max Lamb, Luca Nichetto, Pauline Deltour, GamFratesi and Philippe Malouin.
The pop-up’s interior will feature Hem’s furniture set inside a raw industrial space fitted with bright orange shelving and a large acoustic wall from BAUX. The eye-catching pink counter is bespoke, designed and built by London design studio Soft Baroque using a technique they developed in-house called Puffy Bricks. Hem will also host a series of talks in the pop-up with some of the designers the brand has collaborated with over the years to bring Hem’s beloved objects to life. The space will also be home to weekly workshops for the general public, including photography, embroidery and interior styling.
Coal Drops Yard will house a mix of international and independent brands, shops, restaurants and bars in traditional Victorian architecture along the canal. Following the success of Hem’s 2015 pop-up on Seven Dials and pop-ups in New York and LA last year, the ecommerce brand is looking forward to creating a bricks-and-mortar location in this cutting edge retail development.
