The VIP building is a separate terminal southeast of the main terminal at Oslo Airport. The intention was to create a signal building. The ground floor includes check in, baggage drop and security, while the first floor contains waiting areas and meeting rooms.
The base has a solid expression with granite facade elements. It is divided by a small garden which forms the entrance. The second-floor extends over and protects the entrances.
The upper construction is composed of steel and glass, and the backlit glass elements vary in grades of opacity to create a playful light-pattern in the facade. The two main materials, granite and glass, create a balanced contrast with a heavy base and a light top.
