The Nest is an inner recovery of a space originally designed for studio or workshop. Since its genesis [1959-1963], this space was used as a photographic studio, rehearsal room, and others ...
The program was compatible a workspace, the "hoffice", a small crafts workshop, and a room for meditation, yoga and massage, able to develop an indivisible relationship with space for second homes [alcove and kitchen], a space with just over 60.0 m2.
The approach to design and construction was largely developed in self-built system. Guided by the enthusiasm to explore and overcome the challenges of renewal, we developed an idea of appropriation of space, which retain a reading of the pre-existence, capable of dealing peacefully with the luminosity of wood and cork chromatism.
The aim was to learn, putting in place a sustainable design of architecture in construction, using natural raw materials, mainly wood and cork, that an articulated but also something primary form, develop a living space warm, serene and open, within the architectural space now renovated.
The Nest project took place within a great love, full of complicity, dedication and companionship, is a work of joint authorship, two eternal companions who now devise other destinations. For all I am eternally grateful to you, Alexandra.
