Situated between two historic stone buildings in an exceptional location, the new building is characterized by a volume of simple form and orthogonal plan, inserted into the ground and emerging at its two ends at different altitudes. Its size and orientation are precisely defined by the topography of the site. The upper "terrace", a former grazing area, retains its original character and size. The volumetric impact of the proposal on this remarkable site is reduced. It boils down to the appearance on the surface of the terrain of two mineral and precise forms, abstract and isolated borrowings of contextual scale. They design the accesses to the reception and activity room, and bring it natural light in a differentiated way. For its physical properties, concrete, here used in its simplest expression, has replaced stone. Both wall and roof, it expresses its multiple possibilities of use. The strong mineral expression becomes the dominant feature of the new construction and gives the building a real authenticity establishing a particular dialogue between tradition and modernity.
