Moulded plywood shapes the aesthetics of this chair. The seemingly free lines follow the requirements of its construction. The four edges of the seat are bent downwards to receive the pairs of legs and the backrest on the outside. Moulding plywood into shape is an old technique which has been rapidly developed following the introduction of CNC milling technology. Complex parts can be inserted into the moulding machines and pressed directly together with the plywood, resulting in new options for moulding and construction. The core element of the chair Wogg 50 is a piece of moulded wood which has been pressed into place underneath the seat. The connection with this core, in combination with the way in which it is moulded, give the backrest an elastic bounce. The chair is light, extraordinarily comfortable, and stackable.
