“The coffee shop that doesn’t solely serve coffee but can simultaneously be provided as the multi-purpose space. Besides, it must also be able to serve as the meeting point which allows people to relax while doing their works”.
This is the first intention from the owner of the creative agency office in Bangkok who demands for the coffee and food shop to combine with the co-working space. From their distinct desire, they later decided to turn their meeting room into café with the main concept of “eat, talk and work”. The renovation remodeled the existed suffocating space of the first floor and a part of second floor to become alive.
The coffee bar and the kitchen are located on the first floor which could be noticed firstly when entrancing the building. Besides being café and restaurant during daytime, the coffee bar is also transformed into the bar either for the staff’s party or for alcohol fanciers when the sun goes down. Moreover, the outdoor space with transparent roofing is provided for the customers who enjoy the sunlight and the warmth of Bangkok’s weather.
Above the first floor locates the cozy co-working space which is isolated from the heavy traffic below. Natural sunlight, comfortable environment and relaxing smell of coffee totally boost up the creativity and working moods. Large plane of grayish one-way mirror concealed the entrance to private office space from the public area, which promotes the activeness and liveliness of the space while remaining privacy and concentration.
Storyline was built from the intention to retain the former structure of the building and all the existed gigantic glass windows. Furthermore, the natural materials have been selected in order to convey the feeling of “realism” when they are gazed or touched. Harmonized collection of the materials brought the displayed merchandise and artworks to stand out of the place and become a gallery-like café and restaurant that customers could participate more than just eating and drinking. It becomes a multi-functional space for everyone especially their staffs to feel more comfortable with their own working place. Consequently, the visitations at the different times of the day can provide the customers with dissimilar feelings.
