The Sonnenalp Resort Spa Golf is an award-winning luxury hotel in the midst of the glorious Allgäu. As an award-winning, privately-managed, top hotel and holiday resort, it is now showing its new face. The improvements include 58 renovated rooms, the redesigned lobby and the restaurant, as well as a new children's water world.
The children's water world is in the centre of the hotel, where a swimming pool had been built in 1956. The bathing paradise for young guests includes a baby pool, fun pool, children's pool, family whirlpool, and a chill lounge on a total surface area of 3,600 m². Because the famous Quellgarten is right next door an optimal wellness area for young and old was created. The children's water world is also impressive in its design. Thanks to the natural stone, the natural colours of the materials and the warm wood tones, the landscape of the Allgäu is fascinatingly brought right into the water paradise.
Wall and ceiling sails
Above all, the large murals ensure a natural experience that is deceptively real. Natural scenes from a mountain lake, wood structures and the animal kingdom are depicted. The seamless membrane surfaces are thoroughly suited for the rigorous requirements imposed on wet-duty rooms, and they really come to life through the modern light technology. Not only the design effects but also the sound-absorbing effect make these wall and ceiling sails the ideal construction element for such a high-quality interior.
Material
The wall and ceiling sails are spanned with Artex® light and acoustic fabric. The innovative weave is also ideally suited for use in wet-duty rooms, and thanks to its high-level light transmission, it offers a variety of implementation possibilities. The interior designer Monika Hüttig decided on the imprinting with realistic photo motifs.
The aggressive atmosphere in the swimming pools imposes rigorous requirements on the paints and the printing processes used. Print processes especially adapted to the Artex® fabric enable a long service life, and if need be the fabric can even be removed and cleaned in standard commercial washing machines.
Set-up
There are no limits to the shaping of the sails. Whether round or rectangular, everything is represented in the Hotel Sonnenalp. The low set-up height means that the sail can be easily installed flush-mounted. In this regard the membrane is seamlessly clamped into specially manufactured piping profiles of up to 3.0 m. The well-thought out structure enables fast and easy removal of the membrane in order to service the light technology.
Technical aspects
The light technology is always selected individually in accordance with the building owner's requirements and based on the install situation. In the Hotel Sonnenalp the selected LED lighting was cast in air-tight enclosures to permanently satisfy the high requirements.
