WINDMILL by LACIVIDINA: ART AND DESIGN EMBODY THE FORMS OF JOY
In the design for the Joie de Vivre exhibition, the seats produced by the Italian company were seen as features on a par with paintings, sculptures and installations that encouraged visitors to immerse themselves in art by following a trail of bright, colourful settings
MARTIGNACCO (UDINE)– LaCividina is an Italian company that designs and makes upholstered seating and sofas for the contract and residential markets. It came together with the art world at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille (France).
Visitors to the Joie de Vivre exhibition were taken on a cultural journey and experienced different forms of joy on an original trail through bright, colourful spaces. A place in the spotlight went to the Windmill oversize poufs created by Constance Guisset for LaCividina.
24 Windmill poufs were made and placed in the centre of every exhibition room so that visitors could sit down, contemplate the works of art and soak up the emotional impact of the chosen colours for the different settings, in which Guisset’s creations played a key part.
In a series of multi-coloured environments, the Windmill poufs became more than just products and practical items: they completed the exhibition of paintings, sculptures and installations. The Windmill shape was inspired by a conceptual windmill wheel with lots of segments of different heights in an array of shades. The poufs added a sense of dynamic energy to the exhibition areas and contributed to the pleasant overall atmosphere.
By supplying the items, LaCividina underlined its ability to provide both the contract and residential markets with highly stylish seating solutions that reveal the design capabilities and craftsmanship of a company that conveys the quintessential excellence of Italian-made products in all of its creations.
