“El Pintón” is a restaurant in the heart of Sevilla, fairly close to the Giralda. It is part of the old Peyre´s stores, an Anibal González´s work.
From Lucas y Hernández-Gil Architects, we have tried to link the strong presence of the traditional architecture and a contemporary fresh approach from the typical Sevillian courtyard. Mouldings and clasts added in previous interventions were eliminated to appreciate the original raw textures, which were finished with lime mortar. Moreover, different spaces have been unified with a frieze and wooden floor and roof, and decorative resources have been reduced to the use of materials, textures and light. For instance, a set of filters, reflections and glazes has been generated for qualify natural light that bathe the courtyard, and artificial light.
The space is 250 square meters distributed in different areas. The courtyard is the space that articulates the other ones and it stands out for its ambiguous character between interior and exterior. For this reason, its nature has been enhanced with some vegetation, garden furniture, wreaths and lanterns and a camouflaged fabric for shading.
Furniture is a combination between pieces of our own design, using metal and wood, and other brands pieces such us Magis, Fermob and Driade. Equally, lighting is a mix between own handcrafted designs and lamps from Marset & Tradition.
