Nestling in the delightful, magnificent setting of the North Tyrolean Alps, the Mohr Life Resort is a long-established hotel that has recently been renovated throughout by the NOA architecture firm. Winner of the @Archilovers Best Project 2019 award, the renovation project focused on the Wellness Area, turning it into a gallery of over 400 square metres from which guests can admire splendid views of the Zugspitze. The hotel blends naturally into the gentle slope of the mountain, almost as if it was an integral part of it, and the choice of the materials was thus inspired by the genuine, natural landscape. Large windows to let the sun and the scenery flood in, and concrete surfaces with a striking, authentic appearance, recalling the colours and character of the mountain. Guests will immediately be won over by the huge panoramic swimming pool, where striking architectural shapes and concrete plinths create relaxing islands in the water. The austere lines of the exterior take on a more gentle edge inside, and in the spa, guests are accompanied through engaging experience, thanks to the warm colours, graceful shapes, minimal furnishings and metal details. An incredible sense of continuity is created between the indoors and outdoors, especially in the sauna area, which looks out onto the valley and almost seems to reach out and touch the natural landscape. For the floors of this wellness area, the Noa firm choose Italian ceramic tiles by Marca Corona: the Street collection, in concrete-effect porcelain stoneware, contrasts with the natural wood of the benches, creating a cosy, natural atmosphere. In the Dark variant, the authentic patterns and material of the Street slabs is highlighted to the full. The same tiles have been used in the showers, chosen to guarantee maximum safety and hygiene, thanks to the anti-slip properties and resistance of the stoneware, and how easy it is to clean. Barefoot and looking serenely out towards the mountains, guests will hardly notice the glass barriers that separate them from the surrounding nature.
