This very traditional place in the center of Vienna, the Schottenstift, was an inspiration for this bakery. The conscious choice of the playful floor and the large windows within the old walls, are a marked contrast to the strikt diocese architecture. The aim was to tailor a new downtown, fancy dress for the Felzl bakery for which we had already successfully realised 3 bakeries.
Contradicting the strikt and calm floor plan of the shop, we folded and turned the ceiling in two axes which gave a dynamic feeling in the whole room. The materials used were stoneware, brass patinized or polished, raw marble and raw oak.
