The environment in health facilities is most often associated with functionality. However, research today shows that poor interior design can have negative health effects and that by producing a more sound and beautiful interior, patients as well as staff profit. Furthermore, a thought-through interior also allows for easier and more efficient marketing towards prospective patients. Yet another advantage of placing design furniture in such environments is of course the sustainability of the products; good design lasts longer. Offect has recently seen its furniture being introduced into a number of projects within the healthcare environment throughout Europe. One of these is the St Gallen public hospital in Switzerland. The interior architects of the hospital chose products from the Bond series; chairs; easy chairs; tables, to improve the interiors of the hospital. Important considerations by the architects were questions of quality and fire safety, and they feel that the Bond products correspond well with their demands and have proven to be excellent for the purpose.
