A successful matt black change in style
Jens Göllner, an interior architect and managing director at RUGE+GÖLLNER, was so excited by the vision of some customers for two extraordinary houses that he not only accepted the married couple’s assignment, but actually got involved in the project as an active buyer a short time later.
“Just like me, the customers were very design-oriented and wanted to try out something new,” he said.
A wooden facade was to be used to restore the style of the old cottages, which are located in the region of Vechta. The large black monolith, which is made from Pfleiderer’s matt facade material, acts as a style-breaking element here, looking as if it has been inserted and connecting the two houses in a unique fashion. Mr Göllner said: “We were also very pleased to be able to try out the new facade material, because we have loved using Pfleiderer products for years now. Their materials are hard to top thanks to their scratch-resistance and durability and have enabled us to harmonise interior design and exterior design with each other perfectly.”
As a result, Mr Göllner ended up using the volcano-black decor in XTreme Matt both as a facade material for the simple monoliths and in his own kitchen at home. He added, “These matt finishes just look so classy and are always a real eye-catcher.”
At the beginning of November 2018, the private homes achieved second place in the Lower Saxony Wooden Structure Awards for their environmentally friendly design.
