The new pizzeria Berberè opened in Turin, the second in town of the brothers Matteo and Salvatore Aloe, the brand from Bologna dedicated to artisanal pizza.
The location is very central: Berberè Torino Centro is in fact in the small pedestrian square of Madonna degli Angeli, on the crossroad between via Cavour and via Carlo Alberto, confirming that tendency in which Turin is increasingly chosen by the new businessmen of food services that don’t come from Piedmont.
The number of the restaurants in Italy, in Bologna, Florence, Turin, Milan, Rome and Verona rises to 11, to which we have to add three openings in London, called Radio Alice.
The new restaurant in the centre of Turin has got more or less 50 covers in a completely renovated environment, characterised by a coloured boiserie, rough visible bricks and a wall painting that is a peculiarity of the Berberè pizzerias. In fine weather there will also be a dehors that overlooks the square.
Like for any other new openings, they have studied a site specific architectural project, realised by our office in collaboration with Comunicattive for internal communication, graphic and brand identity. The wall painting has been created by the visual artists TO/LET, who had already signed the works in the restaurants in Bologna, Firenze San Frediano, Milano Centrale and in the other space in Turin: in this case the artists have been inspired by the history of the place, which was a cellar in the ’30, creating the picture of a young boy that swims in red wine.
