The Yays philosophy
With Yays, we like our guests to feel like a neighbourhood resident, an explorer of that part of the city and a part of the history of the neighbourhood and apartment. Any historical, industrial, religious and architectonic building which houses a Yays location with a unique personality, is professionally restored with respect for its origins and only adapted to modern requirement & safety standards. Perfectly imperfect details in such a building are cherished through design, books and artwork and the involvement on the neighbourhood’s residents in the restorations and the celebration of the opening.
The Yays – Crane Apartment
And what is more special than renovating a historical harbour crane and transforming it into a modern serviced apartment, while keeping in mind its original function? The Yays – Crane Apartment is the ultimate experience for those interested in history and exclusivity. This 1957 industrial Figee crane, an icon for the history of Amsterdam, was thoroughly renovated and transformed into a luxury three storey apartment designed by the renowned Amsterdam based designer Edward van Vliet.
