TATI „farm to table” restaurant

Restaurant TATI, opened in 2022, follows the „farm to table” concept which means the use of raw ingredients that come from the farm to the restaurant via the shortest supply chain. This approach is shown on the menu card, where only seasonally and sustainably produced meals can be found. The owner, who also runs a farm near Budapest, is committed to organic nutrition and environmental protection and this is reflected in her business activities as well. Her love for nature can be seen in the choice of name for the restaurant, as her favourite horse is called TATI.

Product application:

Designers of the Hungarian Socially team were entrusted with the entire branding and transfer of the restaurant’s concept to the interior. They followed the philosophical approach throughout the entire design process and applied it to the smallest details. This is how for E.g. straw bales and a horse sculpture got into the interior of the downtown restaurant..

Viaplant has been assigned the task to design and manufacture covering for the U-shaped bar counter. This was an already existing structure with enamel paint surface treatment and copper plinth which did not fit to the new restaurant’s image. CALAM POA texture has been chosen for the Viaplant panels with organic components of reed and hay, the appearance of which evokes the summer fields.

Onsite implementation has been done by the Viaplant team. The curved edges of the counter meant challenge as Viaplant Resin is a flat material. The solution was to install Viaplant panels in strips on the edges to follow the curve. Due to precise cutting and fitting, the continuity of the texture is not broken and the visible joints give the covering an exciting rhythm at the edges. The lighting is hidden under the bar table, that cater for a special appearance and highlights the renovated bar as a defining element in the restaurant.

In addition to the bar covering, two Quadrum wall lamps and coasters have also been ordered with matching Viaplant textures as interior design accessories.
