RETRO DESIGN MEETS EXTRAORDINARY SANITARY PRODUCTS
A stylish bar celebrates good old vinyl records
“33rpm” does not only refer to the rotational speed of music records but is also the name of one of the trendiest bars in Munich. In this hotspot, everything evolves around 1970s music and fashion – from the cocktail names to the menu through to the interior design. The bathrooms are also designed in a retro style and fitted with eye-catching sanitary products from Villeroy&Boch.
VINTAGE INTERIOR DESIGN
The interior of the bar was designed by Michael Faltenbacher, a Munich-based restaurateur and interior designer. The record theme is reflected in every small detail: coat hooks that look like 45 rpm record inserts, a bar shelf with record-size holes as well as tables and lamps with grooves. Dark green sofas, bar stools and chairs with cord covers, floral textile wallpaper and a long brass bar with LPs embedded in the front round off the modern vintage look and create a relaxed atmosphere.
VILLEROY&BOCH’S DESIGNS PAY TRIBUTE TO THE 1970s
The vintage concept is even reflected in the bathrooms, which are equipped with sparkling sequins on the walls, asymmetrical mirrors, dark colours and sharp contrasts. Circular surface-mounted washbasins from Villeroy&Boch’s Artis collection in black and white ceramics perfectly pick up the record theme. Vinyl lovers will even be surprised by the special taps and fittings: viewed from above, the spout of the matt black Cult standpipe looks like the tonearm of a record player. Three black, radar-controlled urinals from the Subway collection, ViConnect flush plates made from grey glass and white rimless toilets are additional eye-catchers. The accessible bathroom area is equipped with a special, yet stylish washbasin and toilet from Villeroy&Boch’s O.novo Vita range.
