×A first visit to the dentist is an experience that, for many, lives long and vividly in the memory – with sparse white rooms, cold, antiseptic atmospheres, and the sound of drilling all likely central to the picture. Not so this cohort of recently completed dental practices, which leverage more considered design schemes for a greater sense of well-being and comfort.

Project by Atelier Giavenale
Playfulness and transparency are the themes that form the basis of this dental clinic project dedicated to children. The layout of the internal space aims to create a light and relaxing atmosphere, with the pastel shades of the furnishings helping to achieve a friendly mood. The furniture is designed so that it can be easily moved, allowing the room to be used differently every day.

Maida Smiles Clinic

Pedra Silva Arquitectos was commissioned by Maida Smiles to deliver a unique and memorable design concept for the practice’s high street premises in Maida Vale. It needed to be visually engaging while also communicating the clinic’s personality. This called for a progressive, sophisticated design concept that would reflect the advanced cosmetic dentistry work carried out by the client.

Dental Clinic In Los Remedios
Seville, Spain
Project by Práctica
This project involved the refurbishment of a retail space into a new dental clinic. It’s design utilised natural light and the optimisation of circulation patterns. Oak latticework covers the entire perimeter of the space’s main bay and a frosted glass box in the centre of the space houses three patient rooms. The clinic’s materiality is completed with a continuous polished concrete floor.

Impress Dental Studio
Barcelona, Spain
Project by Raul Sanchez Architects
For their premises in Barcelona, Impress Dental Studio charged Raul Sanchez Architects with creating a fresh design which would move away from traditional dental clinic typologies. The design utilised the geometric characteristics of the space, while the material palette is dominated by the pinewood of the interior partitions, lending the clinic an uncharacteristic warmth.
