SPLACES, their new platform and source of inspiration for designing in open space, further develops what has already been tried and tested, and at the same time, leaves room for innovation. With SPLACES, Interstuhl’s thinking goes from small to large, from solitary to whole room, from individual workstation to communal workspace. The way there is lead by dialogue: Ideas, wishes, needs, suggestions have to be captured in order to get beyond the status quo. The focus of Interstuhl's activities is personal dialogue – including with those who will feel increasingly addressed in the future: Architects and planners. A further noteworthy feature of Interstuhl’s way of working is that all paths remain open during the conception process: no narrowly defined set of immovable preconditions, rather the liberty to further develop ideas using existing tools.
