Compact, calm, sustainable: a bosselino uno solution for a productive workspace

Yes, even with the option of working from home, things can still be chaotic in today’s offices. Anyone who comes into the office because they value direct interaction with colleagues also knows that there are times when the constant need for communication can become overwhelming. In the past, it was normal for people to talk and make calls in shared or open-plan offices. However, back then, we didn’t have the third screens – smartphones and wearables – that constantly demand our attention. There's no doubt that today, most people are bombarded with too many stimuli and information in too short a time.

Perhaps hand in the smartphone to the receptionist in the morning and pick it up again in the evening? Unrealistic. Would it be better to work from home? Unnecessary. Companies such as Bosse, a brand of the Dauphin HumanDesign® Group, have long been offering various room-in-room systems that provide efficient and space-saving solutions and meet several requirements. In fact, Bosse has been doing this for more than 60 years. The collection extends from compact phone booths that can be easily placed in open office spaces, to spacious meeting pods that allow for focused discussions, for example, in larger customer centres or repurposed factory buildings with expansive floor plans.

With bosselino uno, Bosse now offers a new callbox that not only impresses as a well-equipped focal space but is also easily installed. As more office projects are about achieving ambitious sustainability goals, bosselino uno is also based on environmentally friendly principles.

For example, the sound insulation is made from 100% recycled PET, and the frame that holds the box together is made of low-carbon aluminium, which saves a good two-thirds of carbon dioxide compared to conventional aluminium. In addition, all CO₂ emissions generated during production are offset through certified climate protection projects. ‘The new bosselino uno sets standards in terms of functionality, quality and sustainability. By choosing sustainable materials, CO₂ compensation was easily implemented,’ explains Bosse Managing Director André Heuer.

To ensure fresh air, even during long calls, the bosselino uno is equipped with efficient and silent ventilation. Power outlets provide a stable power supply, and glare-free downlights in the ceiling create good lighting conditions for the upcoming video call. The glass door with seal serves as an acoustic barrier but mainly ensures that the visual connection to the outside world – despite all the focus-enhancing qualities – is maintained. After all, no one wants to feel isolated. The sound-absorbing back and side walls guarantee reliable sound protection, as does the acoustically effective felt floor.

As a seating option, a high stool is recommended, such as the to-swift stool, that can be expanded optionally. Already integrated are a 72 x 33 cm table at standing height and, especially practical, a shelf for smartphones and tablets, allowing for video calls at eye level.

Seamlessly integrated into every imaginable office situation, bosselino uno offers a small, spontaneously usable retreat in busy working environments, offering acoustic advantages – both for the individual who wants to retreat to a virtual meeting and for colleagues who can continue working undisturbed. Ultimately, this contributes to productivity and employee well-being, as people still prefer face-to-face interaction in a positive work climate, meaning that the home office is likely to remain an exception in the long run.

The setup of the callbox takes a maximum of 45 minutes and is independent of any building. This means that bosselino uno is also suitable for retrofitting, expanding or for continued use in the event of a move to a new space – all in the spirit of sustainability, which Bosse is already pursuing with its conscious choice of materials.
