During Milan Design Week 2024, Cassina and Philippe Starck celebrated their thirty-year long collaboration of manufacturing excellence and creative vision with a poetic installation curated by Starck at the Cassina Store Milan. On the occasion of this milestone, the acclaimed designer created two new offerings; Somewhere El-S, a seating collection characterised by the sartorial details translated from elegant travelling to design, and Volage Ex-S Night Wood, a new chapter of the collection for the sleeping area.

‘In the middle of the desert, waiting for your chauffeur, it is always good to sit on your bag,’ says Starck, of the Somewhere El-S collection, which comprises three versatile ottomans and an armchair. Crafted with sophistication in leather and embellished with metal elements, these distinctive forms feature a refined artisanal closure inspired by the world of saddlery and leatherwork. They are available in three shades of leather or fabric, in monochrome, natural and black, or with an ethnic pattern designed by Starck specifically for this project.

On the other hand, ‘Volage Ex-S Night Wood shares the family look of timeless, discreet and human elegance,’ says Starck of the bed. Both sensorial and majestic, the bed’s headboard is available in three fine wood finishes, equipped with a USB and electric socket, a dimmable LED spotlight for reading, and two bedside tables with a marble top and a wooden drawer in the same finish as the headboard.
