First introduced as part of the restoration of Paris’s landmark Hotel Lutetia, Italian stainless-steel specialists CEAdesign's new Lutezia range of bathroom fittings pay homage to the Belle Epoque.

×With its idiosyncratic, wrought-iron exits to the Paris Métro designed by architect Hector Guimard, the French capital is feted as a birthplace of Art Nouveau. Now another Art Nouveau landmark – the Hotel Lutetia in Saint Germain des Près – has been entirely refurbished by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
In collaboration with Wilmotte, CEA, leading Italian purveyor of bathroom and kitchen fittings, based in the Bassano del Grappa district in northeast Italy, has developed the hotel’s bespoke, stainless-steel bathroom range, fittingly christened Lutezia.
The Lutezia range, also available in a rich, bronze finish, harmonises with the hotel’s opulent, old-world bathrooms

×Just as the hotel’s original cornices and balusters have been lovingly restored, so the bathrooms have been upgraded with CEA’s state-of-the-art taps and shower fittings. While contemporary-looking, the Lutezia collection has a subtly decorative, classical feel, thanks to the rounded ends of its user-friendly taps, reminiscent of ancient Parisian radiator valves.
Lutezia pays homage to the hotel’s heritage – Paris’s La Belle Epoque – when its taps come in a rich bronze tone. ‘At CEA, everything we do answers needs – and satisfies desires, as was the case at the Hotel Lutetia,’ asserts Natalino Malasorti, CEA’s founder and creative director. ‘Lutezia contains the classic notes of the Belle Epoque period and all the innovation that characterises the development of CEA products.’
These played an important role in Wilmotte’s holistic redesign, which spans everything from bespoke washbasins to glass sconces. The project reflects the fact that architects appreciate CEA’s products for their originality and ability to harmonise well with other homeware. And now the super-elegant Lutezia collection is available to all.
