DESIGN BIENNALE ZÜRICH 2019 – PLAY Pop-up Conference

Technology, simulation and robotics - material, poetry and irritation - interactive experiences, spaces and services.Tim Geurtjens, Mona Neubauer & David Simon and Mieke van den Hout demonstrate visionary concepts and playful processes from different design disciplines. The presentation will explore new paths as well. Take part in this experiment.

The Pop-up Conference is dedicated to the Biennale theme PLAY in all its diversity. The keynote speakers Tim Geurtjens, Mona Neubauer & David Simon and Mieke van den Hout will provide personal insights into play-inspired approaches to idea-finding and design processes, reveal commonalities and interfaces between their fields of activity and provide insight into new projects.

The extraordinary music performance by Melody Chua will be followed by a panel discussion presented in an unusual and witty format.

With this compact conference format, the curatorial team of the Design Biennale Zurich aims primarily to surprise and open up unexpected perspectives on the interplay of design, play, experiment, practice and research.

The conference is aimed at a broad audience, students, designers, companies and institutions. Afterwards, the audience can exchange ideas with the speakers.
