×Montana’s founder Peter Lassen conceived Montana’s expandable 12mm system as a tool for self-expression. Now, in conjunction with design publication Frame, Montana is inviting emerging design studios and design graduates to exercise their own creativity. Taking its cue from today’s trend for open-door offices that welcome passers-by into their premises, luring them into their public areas – an idea inspired by hotel bars and lobbies – the brief is as follows: ‘To conceptualise a fluid office lobby that serves both the internal office community and the surrounding neighbourhood by catering to employees’ and outsiders’ needs.’ Above all, the winner should dream up a playful, colourful, photogenic and enticing space.
Montana’s furniture for flexible modern offices includes its CO16 shelving system doubling as room dividers, storage units on castors, conference tables, shelving for archiving and personal lockers
