An ingenious fusion of experimentation, artistry and functionality is embodied in Edra’s Diamante and Veronica collections, both sculpturally crafted from polycarbonate and designed to captivate.

×Longtime Edra collaborator designer Jacopo Foggini is fascinated by the lightweight, durable and decorative qualities of polycarbonate. He has made it his mission to master its functionality for contemporary interiors, whilst finding its playful sculptural aesthetics through experimentations with light.

×This year, he has launched two new collections for Edra, expanding on his previous collections in the same material; Diamante, a family of three tables and Veronica, a family of lounge chairs and tables, all made of polycarbonate.
The Diamante indoor coffee tables – designed to be paired with sofas and armchairs – each have polycarbonate table tops with irregular edges measuring 80cm and conical metal bases available in three different heights and finishes; gold, palladium and ruthenium. Veronica, designed for indoor and outdoor use, consists of a low armchair and three tables (three-legged, square and a large rectangular).

×Perfect for outdoors due to the resistance, stability and ease of maintenance of the polycarbonate, the Veronica armchair shell creates the effect of a piece of handwoven embroidery in a nuanced green colour evocative of natural glass, as an evolution of Foggini’s Gina chair for Edra: ‘We worked on the texture of the Gina chair to make it thicker,’ says Foggini. ‘We experimented with an unparalleled amount of polycarbonate, which we had never used before, to make a large surface like that of the rectangular table.’
