Just as the kitchen has been upgraded, upsized and re-imagined as the beating heart and social hub of the modern home, so too the bathroom is ready for redefinition and a bigger role in our daily life. Of course, it might not be the right spot for multi-generational family gatherings, but the bathroom can and should be much more than functional component parts thoughtlessly compacted into the smallest space possible.

With an established reputation for expertly handled minimalism and clean lines, innovative materials and meticulous handcrafting, the Italian manufacturer Falper has long championed an ambitious and elevated take on bathroom design, what it calls the Living Bathroom.

The Living Bathroom is a generous space, a place of calm and refuge but an aesthetic extension of other living areas in the house, deserving of the same attention to detail, warm materials and exemplary design.

Falper's basins and baths are non-toxic and recyclable, creating Living Bathrooms that are more than just aesthetic spaces of calm and refuge for users, they are good for the environment, too

Falper’s designs make clear that the bathroom can be a place of controlled drama and elegant theatre or calm and restoration, of space, light and scented air and where the finest fixture and fittings can be matched with prized contemporary and classic design pieces.

At this year's edition of Salone del Mobile, Falper will showcase the Living Bathroom concept at its Brera showroom on Via Pontaccio 10. From bathtubs and basins of sculptural power to the celestial calm of back-lit mirrors, Falper will present a range of collections and designs, new and refreshed, that present new possibilities for the Living Bathroom. And as all Falper’s tops, washbasins and tubs are non-toxic, antibacterial, recyclable and made from plant-derived resins, these are designs that enhance the well-being in all areas.
