×Climate change is undoubtedly the greatest global challenge of our time: melting glaciers, droughts, heat waves and heavy rainfall are already the visible and tangible consequences of global warming. Around 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions are attributable to the construction sector. For a long time, the topics of sustainability and environmentally friendly building have tended to lead a niche existence.
Heinze created its climate festival in order to underline the necessity of a change in construction, spread clear and unified messaging and provide architects and the entire industry with much needed additional know-how. The event will take place from November 2-4, 2022 in the Alte Schmiedehallen (Old Forge Halls) in Düsseldorf, Germany, and will use new ideas, concepts and positive future models to show how sustainable building is possible.
The festival will address the question of how our building stock can become climate-neutral by 2045 and how new, sustainable business models can be established going forward

×The festival in the Rhine metropolis sees itself as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange between planners, architects, engineers, building product manufacturers and investors. Representatives from politics, science and academia will also be involved. The festival will address the question of how our building stock can become climate-neutral by 2045 and how new, sustainable business models can be established going forward.
The event will look at different scales, disciplines and approaches, ranging from product development and manufacturing to the design and construction of buildings and urban and regional planning. With this complex topic, many paths lead to the goal – if all those involved in the building process join forces, explore the potential of the building turnaround together, discuss strategies and bring fresh ideas to the wider public.
Industry professionals will discuss ways to combat climate change and be part of the much-needed discussion for a greener path forward in construction
