When it came to specifying wallcoverings for the Eala Luxury Spa in Italy, architect Marco Savorgnani chose Glamora to help him create a unique design story for its guests.

×When architect Marco Savorgnani of Brescia-based Studio Gesia was designing the Eala Luxury Spa on the shores of Lake Garda, one of the key objectives was to create spaces that evoke the beauty of the serene surroundings. Savorgnani selected surface treatments from Glamora’s expansive collection of refined wallcoverings to help enhance the relaxing mood within the spa’s suites and public areas.

בThe wallcoverings feature themes that recall dreamlike images where the patterns span an unmarked space: the space of Eala, my lakeside dream,’ said the architect, who cleverly used colours and shapes that evoke natural elements. ‘The Eala Spa project was inspired by observing in awe and listening with respect to the landscape that hosts this oasis of wellness,’ he suggested, adding that the curved lines and ephemeral imagery featured on the wallpapers contribute to the calming environment.
The various suites each have a theme that informed the choice of wallcoverings. The Stardust design used in the Nemos (sky) room evokes a night sky, while the subtle blended shapes of the D’Oro pattern featured in the Alisia (rock) room recall the horizon where the lake meets the mountain.

×In the spa’s reception area and staircase, Glamora and Studio Gesia collaborated to develop two bespoke designs that support the overall concept. Guests are welcomed by a subtle diorama recalling the image of nearby Mount Baldo reflected in the lake. The staircase is lined with a wallcovering that resembles water cascading down towards the spa area. ‘Glamora helped Gesia in this process,’ said Savorgnani, ‘which is essential in order to obtain a coherent design by accompanying Eala’s guest experience; a unique story, full of passion and sentiment for Lake Garda and its surroundings.’
