×Long-time innovator in the field of ergonomic and sustainable office furniture, Humanscale, has entered into a global partnership with the game-changing textile brand, Kvadrat. A range of task chairs from Humanscale’s portfolio will now be available upholstered in a selection of Kvadrat’s most renowned textiles, from Hallingdal 65 to Vanir by Raf Simmons.
A textile brand with a difference
Textile brands don’t typically assume the same sort of iconic status as those brands dealing in well-loved hard furnishings. Kvadrat is something of an exception. The Danish fabric makers enjoy recognition globally for shaking up the world of soft – and solid furnishing – with fabric innovations that transform the environments they enter through unique shades, pattern and tactility, but that also attend to the wider environment in a committed and meaningful way, by cleaning up material sourcing, make up, processing and manufacture.
Kvadrat and Humanscale are aligned on the need to clean up the sourcing and processing of materials, and are both committed to innovation that makes their designs last longer

×Caring for humans and the environment
Humanscale and Kvadrat have found common ground in the absolute and urgent drive to improve human welfare and the health of the environment through their ground-breaking design and manufacturing processes. ‘The collaboration between Humanscale and Kvadrat represents a compelling venture to ignite meaningful change on an industrial scale. Our shared values of design innovation, longevity and sustainability make this partnership a perfect fit,’ says Humanscale Creative Director Todd Bracher. ‘The partnership merges the purposeful expression of colour, texture and pattern with the ethos of ergonomic wellness and engineered inclusivity.’
Kvadrat upholstery takes nothing away from the functionality of the task chairs, but brings a more homely quality, allowing them to soften the edges of workplaces while blending in at home

×The power of two
Indeed, alongside a passion for planet-positive manufacture, the two brands share the joy of innovating with function and aesthetics to achieve positive emotional impact. For Humanscale, complex ergonomic technologies bely a soothing and seemingly effortless purity of form, while Kvadrat brings their expressive, mood-defining interplay of colour, texture and pattern. When put together, the impact is captivating.
