Timeless and handmade in Germany: JUNG

The switch is but a small detail in a room – yet a particularly significant one, tactilely, visually and acoustically. Over the years, the rotary switch evolved into the rocker switch, and this in turn into the flat switch. What began as an object of pure utility thus developed into a design object. Today, there are almost no bounds when it comes to form, colour and function, as attested by the JUNG company’s new switch series LS 1912 and its classic model from 1968, the LS 990.

The LS 1912 is a modern reinterpretation of the traditional flip switch. This recently launched series pays homage to the year of the company’s founding. Only the rocker lever – in cylindrical, conic or rectilinear form – is set apart as a style-defining element from the flat cover, which lies flush with the frame. The series offers five premium surface options: chrome, classic brass, stainless steel, aluminium and dark. In addition, the flip switch is modularly developed and can therefore be combined with all of the one- to five-gang frames of the LS series.

In contrast, the square LS 990 flat switch has already become a classic. Introduced in 1968, this model has a clear form and enjoys great popularity. Thanks to its timeless, reserved design, its numerous colour and material versions – from plastic to metal – and its more than 200 functions, the switch fits well into any setting. Those seeking more colour can additionally choose from among the 63 hues of Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier. For purists, there is LS ZERO, a further development of the classic, that is installed flush with the mounting surface.
