×Light has great emotional significance. The type of lighting and its colour temperature are key factors in the atmosphere of a space. Once a lamp is installed, the lighting decision seems set for a long time. But the spaces we live in are multipurpose: we work at the kitchen table, watch TV in the bedroom, and children’s play routinely, if often covertly, expands to occupy the living room. And although our rooms often change functions several times a day, the lighting in them remains a comparatively static element.
However, the open Plug & Light system, available since November, is extremely flexible and prompts a rethinking of interior light. The Plug & Light luminaire attachment is easily exchanged, With a magnet providing the contact, so that lamps must no longer be mounted, but rather simply connected. Brightness and colour temperature can be controlled using a dimmer.

×A brightly illuminated work table can convert into a cosy dining table with a twist of the wrist, changing from a spotlight to a pendant lamp. The flood lamp on the bedroom wall that provides atmospheric, indirect light can, when rotated into the right position, turn into a reading lamp for the evening hours. Luminaires can be adapted or exchanged in the blink of an eye.
Plug & Light also simplifies the complete repurposing and renovation of rooms. In the first lighting design stage, only the position of the light source and the switch must be determined. With the Plug & Light system, what light source is to be employed can be decided independently at a later point in time.
A further innovation: For the first time, lamps and switches are made by the same manufacturer and thus speak the same design language. This enables seamless electrical planning from a single source, which makes the system equally attractive to electricians, architects and interior designers, and end-consumers alike.
