Interest is high in space&interiors, the event connected with the Salone del Mobile.Milano which, during Design Week, puts leading-edge materials and ideas in the architectural spotlight.
This major event focuses the attention of architects, designers and Italian/international buyers on the latest trends in finishings for architecture, along with an exhibition – the New Components Code – that brings together a select group of the most significant products from each company. In a nutshell, space&interiors is a brand-new event conceived by MADE expo to run during Design Week in Milan, showcasing the finest architectural finishes as part of a concept designed to offer visitors a unique, multisensory and immersive experience.

×Curated by Migliore+Servetto Architects, the design of space&interiors leverages a New Map of Living, a “manifesto of architecture” within which materials and ideas combine to offer an opportunity to read and interpret the latest trends in interior design. Ico Migliore explains: “The system of relationships between components within the architectural space not only determines the overall quality of a design, it helps create an ideal abacus of contemporary construction that visitors to space&interiors get to discover in advance.”
space&interiors explores the narrative interface between a variety of materials offered by a selection of companies specialized in the manufacture of groundbreaking, leading-edge components: surfaces, floors, cladding, paint and decoration, doors, handles, finishes, wall fittings, stairs, architectural glass, cladding for facades, windows and facades, arbours, gazebos, curtains, architectural lighting, home automation and home entertainment, in a completely unique event under the auspices of the wide-ranging programme of the Milan Design Week.
The first participating companies: 3A Composites, Abet Laminati, Agostini Group, Barausse, Bauxt, Bianchi Lecco, Carminati Serramenti, Dierre, Effeitalia, Erco, Fantoni, Gardesa, Garofoli, Granorte, Gypsum, Italserramenti, Jacaranda Carpets, Jannelli & Volpi, Knauf, Legnoform, Manital, New Design Porte, Oikos, Oikos Venezia, Okey, Oli, Opera 3B, Ponzio, Salice Paolo, Secco Sistemi, Tabu, Torterolo & Re, Turati Boiseries, Valli, Valsir, Velux, Virag
The space&interiors factory competition, conceived in partnership with the Migliore+Servetto practice, is open to students of architecture and design enrolled on Italian university courses and aged between eighteen and thirty. Students are being asked to sum up their interpretation of the topic “The Codes of Contemporary Living” in a brief video and manifesto, developing the relationship between finishes and the elements that define the living environment, including a variety of materials, in the search for a specific identity. An eminent panel will give the award to the winning project during space&interiors. A selection of the best projects will also be on show. The project starts on 16 February 2016.
